Event Manager: Special Events
Status: Exempt
Reports to Senior Events Manager/Associate Director of Entertainment & Events
Contract: Full-time five-month contract starting ASAP

POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a full-time contractor position (February-July) that is responsible for the planning, production, and management of NYC Pride’s Special Events. Working in collaboration with the Development Director, Associate Director of Events & Entertainment, and volunteer leaders, this role will be the key driver for the implementation of NYC Pride’s Special Events. Such events include; The Rally, Youth Pride, The Brunch, and various club events. The position involves a wide array of responsibilities that vary in both scope and complexity.
This is a contract position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage sponsor relationships, communication, and product donation as it pertains to Special Events.
- Maintain the event budgets for all Special Events and The Rally.
- Lead the attendee ticketing process for all events.
- Lead Virtual and In Person Group Leader Training sessions
- Create a standard volunteer training schedule and process in tandem with a Volunteer Manager if applicable.
- Lead Special Events and Rally event volunteer training schedule and implementation.
- Source all production elements and permits for the all assigned events.
- Work collaboratively with Event Coordinator on the Run of Shows across all assigned events
- Serve as a leader in the organization specific to virtual and hybrid event solutions.
- Work with the Executive Director, Operations Manager and organizational leaders to identify areas of cost-savings. Highlight potential overages or large changes to operational costs to ensure the org’s financial health
- Lead talent conversations, booking, travel logistics and more in partnership with the Director of Entertainment and Events.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Must have experience in event production and management; prior street festival or club planning experience a ++
- Must have experience working with sponsors, creatives, and talent
- Experience working with coordinators, production assistants, and volunteers
- Self-starter with a keen eye for detail
- Passion for NYC Pride’s mission and its iconic events.
- Commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community and social justice causes.
- Strong understanding of the current social landscape and how it relates to the LGBTQIA+ community.
Experience and Education Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in event management and production
- Bachelor’s degree in Entertainment/a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
- Must provide at least three references.
Salary Range
$65,000 to $75,000 per year (Pro-rated)
