Finance Assistant: Part Time/Seasonal

Reports to the Operations Manager 

Contract: Part Time - temp position starting March through July

POSITION SUMMARY:

The seasonal Finance Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall financial operations of NYC Pride | Heritage of Pride, Inc during its peak season. This role is responsible for being the on-site liaison for all finance requests and maintaining accurate financial records. Duties include timely inputting of invoices, expense payments and generating financial reports in accordance with HOP protocols and best practices. This role also provides administrative support, tracks/manage invoice payments, and intersects with the HOP Treasurer and external accounting firm to ensure adherence to established policies. The ideal candidate has a background in bookkeeping or finance, proficiency in project tracking software and Google Suite, and excellent organizational and communication skills. The ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks is crucial.

This position is a part-time seasonal contract with the ability to travel to the office three (3) days a week. Availability for weekly finance meetings is mandatory.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Input invoices to third party accounting firm and Bill.com

  • Ensure the maintenance of current accounting records

  • Aid in finalizing monthly financial records to facilitate the accurate preparation by the third-party accounting firm.

  • Aiding in ensuring the accurate accounting of all accounts receivable

  • Ensure all payments are logged correctly and filed according to HOP standards.

  • Providing clerical and administrative support, as needed.

  • Work with staff to track/manage payment of invoices

  • Support the Operations Manager and NYC Pride Treasurer in record keeping and filing 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Bookkeeping, finance, or accounting background

  • Experience using project tracking software and abliity to juggle multiple tasks.

  • Experience in Google Suite (Google sheets, Google Docs, etc)

  • Experience with accounting applications such as QuickBooks, Expensify, Bill.com, Monday.com or the equivalent a bonus

  • Ability to work independently

  • Excellent communication skills both on the phone and via email

  • Ability to come into the office 3 days a week.

Salary:

$19,000 - $24,000 5 months part-time
