Media Coordinator

Reports to Executive Director

Contract: Starting ASAP through July 2024

 

About NYC Pride: NYC Pride works toward a future without discrimination where all people have equal rights under the law. We do this by producing LGBTQIA+ Pride events that inspire, educate, commemorate, and celebrate our diverse community.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Media Coordinator for NYC Pride, you are responsible for managing our online presence. You will curate and post content on social media, maintain an engaging social media calendar, respond to follower messages, and produce event-related content. Additionally, you'll update the organization's website, deliver digital media benefits to sponsors, and support the Communications team in achieving shared goals. Your role also involves collecting and sharing media clips with key stakeholders and executing deliverables for photo, video, and influencer content. You will also support the Communications infrastructure of NYC Pride as well as develop and implement media campaigns in partnership with major Corporate, Non-profit, and Media Sponsors.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Post content on NYC Pride’s social media accounts (Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and Threads) to communicate organizational activities and event announcements

  • Maintain a social media calendar that engages supporters and promotes events

  • Monitor social media mentions and respond to messages from followers

  • Produce social media content related to events

  • Make updates to the organization’s website as needed

  • Deliver digital media benefits to Corporate, Non-profit and Media Sponsors

  • Provide support to the Communications team as needed 

  • Work collaboratively on the Pride Guide with external vendor

  • Collect media clips and keep organization membership apprised of media pick-up

  • Execute deliverables for photo, video and influencer content

 

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Must have a passion for social media

  • Must be proficient with social media platforms and managing business pages

  • Social media graphics and video content design and creation skills a plus

  • Web design/development skills a plus

  • Experience working with sponsors is a plus

  • Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills

  • Top-notch oral and verbal communication skills

  • Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask

  • Detail-oriented approach with an ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing/communications or a related field or relevant work experience

  • Minimum 1-year experience with B2C social media marketing 

 

Salary Range

$50,000 - $60,000 (prorated)
